Two creative souls unite at a Downtown St. Pete wedding at Red Mesa Events. Lindsay & Jonathan are both artistic performers who desired a wedding that would showcase their personalities and the love they both share for the arts. The couple wanted a wedding venue in the Downtown St. Pete area but had an industrial and modern feel. Red Mesa Events checked all of the boxes for them!
The day started with the couple getting ready at their residence to fully enjoy the day together which I strongly encourage couples to break free from traditions and expectations to curate a wedding day that fits their style and personality as a couple. The St. Pete native couple were able to enjoy the wedding day getting ready together and incorporating their beloved pets into their wedding day. Lindsay a makeup artist and the owner of LDM Beauty Group did her own wedding makeup look. She did treat herself as she would any bride by doing her own makeup trial and taking notes on her makeup application.
To continue the relaxed vibe on their wedding day Lindsay & Jonathan opted to do a first look before heading to the venue. Doing a first look allowed them to spend more time together on their wedding day and work closely with their photo/video team Foto Bohemia to capture images with their closest friends for their pre-ceremony photos.
While Lindsay & Jonathan were enjoying their morning together Brittany Bauer Events and team were setting up the venue with some of Lindsay & Jonathan’s DIY decor and a few rented items from our inventory. We arrived early to ensure the decor was set up just as the couple had envisioned for their big day! The couple had planned for their ceremony to be at the Red Mesa Events De Santo Rooftop. As the guests arrived they were greeted with the rooftop bar open to enjoy some pre-ceremony cocktails. 10 out of 10 recommend! The guests were quite surprised with an open bar upon entry which really elevated the guest experience. Cocktail hour was located on the same rooftop as we repurposed some of the ceremony decor for the reception.
The ceremony was filled with so many laughs and tears! The love Lindsay and Jonathan share between each other was felt throughout the entire day! Lindsay and Jonathan are both quite the creative couple and as mentioned earlier they are THE couple who wants to break traditions and have a wedding day THEIR way. Their ceremony included their dear friend Amber who was the officiant. She was lively, entertaining and kept the guests engaged through the ceremony. Lindsay and Jonathan opted to not have a wedding party but did want to include flower men! Who put on a SHOW stopping performance down the aisle! Lindsay and Jonathan both wrote their own vows which was also filled with laughter and love.
The reception started with Lindsay & Jonathan’s grand entrance into the reception which was followed by their choreographed dance to Hadestown Epic III “They Danced” which was the most beautiful first dance I have ever witnessed.
After their first dance everyone enjoyed a champagne toast where Lindsay and Jonathan welcomed and thanked their guests for sharing their wedding day with them. Following their champagne toast the guests and wedding vendors enjoyed a meal provided by Red Mesa Events which was AMAZING. Once dinner concluded it was time to PARTY!! Ron with Universal Music Entertainment kept the dancing floor PACKED. Everyone had an incredible time dancing and partying in honor of Lindsay & Jonathan’s love story.
After an EPIC dance party the night concluded with a sparkler exit in the alley just outside of Red Mesa Events! The party didn’t end at Red Mesa the couple invited their closest friends and family to continue the celebration at the bar up the street. While they continued the celebration we helped load up the decor, gifts and any personal items in a designated vehicle so the couple didn’t have to stay behind and worry about a thing!
